Mexico City (Spanish: Ciudad de Mexico) is federal district and the capital city of Mexico. It is the biggest city in the state with the population of around 9 million people and with metropolitan population of 21 million people. Beside that, it is the most important political, economic, cultural and educational center of Mexico.
Mexico City was founded in 1325 and its first name was Tenochtitlan. Since August 13, 1521 it is Ciudad de Mexico, and since 1824 it is Federal District (Distrito Federal). During the centuries, this city had pass through many changes. The old city and remains are well preserved and they are completed with modern buildings and modern times.
The rich program of activities and many happenings with the centuries old heritage are the main reason of popularity of Mexico Holidays.
