Burj Khalifa, The Tallest Building on Earth

Three years ago we wrote about Burj Dubai. It was the time when Burj Dubai became de facto tallest building on Earth. Now three years later Burj Dubai is finished and his height ended up on 828 meters high making it as we already site tallest building ever built.

Burj Dubai got its new official name after opening and is now known as Burj Khalifa. Construction of this magnificent building started on 21. September 2004 and official opening was on the 4. January 2010. Construction lasted almost six years.

Now when it is finished this building dominates on the panorama of Dubai, on which United Arab Emirates are very proud. It has 163 habitable floors and 46 levels for maintenance work. Two parking levels are under the ground in basement. Cost of this awesome project is estimated on over 1, 5 milliard US dollars.

Main goal of making such tall structure was to diversify income for Dubai. For years their main income is from oil industry but with recent investments Dubai is becoming very cool tourist destinations. Dubai holidays now are becoming one of the most booked holidays in the world.

Burj Khalifa has lots of attractive elements incorporated some of them being Dubai Fountain, Observation deck (At the Top), Burj Khalifa park and many others…

Dubai Fountain costs were over $217 million and for that money we got 30 acres artificial lake at the center of Downtown Dubai. Fountain is decorated and choreographed with 6600 lights and 25 color projectors. Height on which it slings water is 150 meters up to 50th floor.

Observation deck is a highest outdoor artificial observation deck in the world. It’s located on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa at the height of 452 meters. Tourists especially like these feature and tickets for observation deck should be purchased in advance for specific time and date to avoid crowds.

Burj Khalifa is home for nine hotels but maybe even better is option to pick some of the surrounding hotels with direct view to this majestic building.
