The city is also headquarter for many important Brazilian companies such as Brazil Telecom, Banco do Brasil etc. thanks to well planned urban area, Brasilia serves as an example of a life in a big city in the 20th century. In this city, everything is well planned, the center, possibility to expand urban areas, including new areas around the city. There are even specific areas for hotels and accommodation in purpose to improve the tourism.
Lúcio Costa couldn’t predict such a fast expansion of the city. Many changes are needed. But, one thing doesn’t need to be change: it is a fact that Brasilia was designated a World Heritage Site of any UNESCO entry. It is on the list since 1987 as the only city in the world built in the 20th century to be awarded.
Brasilia have a metro, an international airport, tram lines and a well established lines of local and interstate busses… Local cheap flights are almost a rule in Brazil, so for tourists planning to explore the country Brasilia is excellent starting point. Yet getting directly to Brazilia is almost impossible since direct international flights exist only from Lisbon, Buenos Aires and Atlanta.
Brasilia, as a modern city, has a lot of interesting things to offer. It is a city of politics, industry, economy, but in the same time city of education, culture with a lot of historic sites and museum and city of sport. In other way said: Brasilia is an urban, planned city with great possibilities to expand in every field.
