Plitvice lakes are set of 16 lakes in central Croatia near the west border of Bosnia And Hercegovina. Lakes are located on Plitvice plateau with highest lake located at 636 m above sea level and lowest at about 500 m above the sea level. Formation is over 8 km long. Korana river is formed from the water flow from last lake. Plitvice lakes are national park in Croatia and hills and mountains around are heavily forested. Rare fauna such as the European brown bear, wolf, eagle, owl, lynx, wild cat and capercaillie can be found there, along with many more common species. Plitvice lakes are major Croatian tourist attraction. The park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979 in recognition of its “outstanding natural beauty, and the undisturbed production of travertine (tuff) through chemical and biological action”.

River Kamachnik

River Kamachnik rise from the deeps of Gorski Kotar near town Vrbovski in Croatia. River is only 3 km long (after which it cascading to River Dobra), but because of exceptional beauty it is under state protection. In the entrance off canyon, scene is magical, almost like a from the Lords Of The Rings. Forest is everywhere and high trees are making pleasant shades. On the side walls of old sawmill behave like it is part of the some old medieval castle. Further up the river begins high gulch covered by the green moss. Footpath is following the river further. While heading to the spring you are stepping over wooden bridges and crossings. Few fallen trees and impression of wilderness are giving special taste to this place. Only bridge Kamchanik is ruining this impression. In the end you are coming to the river spring. Spring is sunken under a small lake and looks very attractive. You can easily get there by the speedway Zagreb – Rijeka. While in Vrbovsko you should also see the picnic place Litorich and monastery Gomirje which is the most western monastery in Europe of eastern orthodox church. Palagruža – Adriatic Heart

Palagruža is a small Croatian archipelag in the middle of the Adriatic Sea. It consists of one bigger main island, named Velika Palagruža and one smaller island named Mala Palagruža. Velika Palagruža is 1400 m long and 300 m wide. Also there is about twenty rocks or reefs around. Palagruža is located 123 km south of Split (Croatia) and 160 km east of Pescara (Italy). Palagruža is closer to Italy mainland then Croatian. It is about 42 km from Monte Gargano. Many states controlled Palagruza during history. Austro Hungary empire built lighthouse in 1875.
