The Burgos Cathedral is Roman Catholic cathedral in Burgos, Spain. It is dedicated to Virgin Mary and it is famous for its size and architecture.

The construction of the Burgos Cathedral began in 1221 and it is built in Gothic-style, with French gothic parameters. The construction was ordered by King Ferdinand III of Castile and Mauricio, the English-born Bishop of Burgos. Although the construction began in 1221, the cathedral was finished in 1567, after numerous modifications during the 15th and 16th century. The spires of the principal facade, Chapel of the Constable and cimborio of the transept gave to this Cathedral unique profile.

There are many balconies in the towers with open-carved inscriptions. The main spires are 88 meters tall. The cruciform floor plan is 106 meters long. Many of the altars, chapels and monuments within the cathedral are of artistic and historical importance.

On October 31, in 1984, the Burgos Cathedral was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
